Well, this site obviously made in an effort to get more Titans games on
KEYE-TV in Austin, Texas.
Why show the Titans over the Texans in Austin?
- As KEYE Programming
Director Gary Vinson wrote on Richard Justice's
blog, the Titans game was watched by more than
152%
households in the KEYE viewing area than the Texans game! To dismiss this by saying
that the Neilson rating system is inherently flawed is ludicrous!
- Vince Young was 8-5
last year as a rookie quarterback. the Texans are 8-24 over the last
two seasons!
- Austin is a college
town; Tennessee has four Longhorns on its roster, so a majority of
the college football fans can be expected to tune in to watch these
UT alumns.

In the mid 1800's a group of
Tennesseans came to Texas. There they helped Texas gain its freedom from
Mexico whilst giving their lives at the Alamo.
In the early 2000’s Texas repaid the favor. First sending tight end Bo
Scaife in 2005, then fullback Ahmard Hall and quarterback Vince Young in
2006, and finally defensive back Michael Griffin in 2007 to the
Tennessee Titans the state of Texas has given the Volunteer State 4
starters for their NFL franchise. All four of these outstanding athletes
had phenomenal collegiate careers at The University of Texas at Austin
so it is only natural that those who loved watching them in college
would love watching them in the NFL. Thanks to CBS KEYE 42 Austin, those
of us in the capital city can watch the Titans for almost every game.
Previously, Austin was in the Houston Texans region but with hardly any
true Texans on the team, there was little interest in the team. When the
Texans had a chance to draft hometown hero Vince Young and didn’t, that
was the final straw for many people. In 2006 KEYE began airing Titans
games instead of Texans games due to demand from their audience. They
are doing the same for much of 2007 and we couldn’t be more thankful to
them.
Thanks KEYE! Hook ‘em Horns, Hook ‘em Titans, and God Bless Texas!
